Driveway leading up to house

The “Sunnyside” property located in Cooranbong, Australia was purchased by Ellen G. White (née Ellen Gould Harmon; November 26, 1827 – July 16, 1915) in her quest to support the establishment of a Seventh-day Adventist Church school in the area to train church workers and missionaries. The Church had acquired 1,500 acres (600 hectares) and Ellen White purchased 40 acres on Avondale Road on June 7, 1895. At the age of 68, Ellen White could not find accommodation in the area so she stayed in a tent on the property with her granddaughter and some staff until they could move into her newly built Sunnyside home in 1896.

The Sunnyside property attracts more than 2,000 visitors each year from around the world. The property helps to represent part of the history of a remarkable woman of faith who translated God’s love into a practical experience and sense of community
